- The Motor Controller (sometimes called an ESC - Electronic Speed Control), lives inside the vertical tube in an ES4. It is the main brain of an ES4, and syncs the battery, controls, and motor. If you have a generic issue with an ES4, a new motor controller will most likely fix it.
